We use recycled copper, melted and rolled in the pueblo where we make our products. Almost all of the copper is bought from two large companies - Telmex (the biggest phone company) & the Federal Electricity Commission. Everyone in the pueblo is highly aware of the need to keep lead and other dangerous metals out of the mix. Recently, we sent a randomly chosen piece of our copper to a laboratory in Boston, one often used by MIT. As you can see in their report, attached here, our sample was over 98% copper ("balance"), 1.78% zinc (which we add for malleability), and less than .02% iron. No other element was detectable at a level of even one-tenth of one percent.
