It looks like my antique copper that I brought over from Switzerland years ago, so I was pleasantly suprised as I thought it was going to be lighter. I didn't like the "blotches" of your antique finish and really agonized about the decision to go with a lighter finish. I just love it and I'm a really happy. We were on a trip in AZ and just got back last night so I had DHL delay shipment of the table top until today. We did receive it today, no damage in shipping and we are very pleased with it. Hello Dorian, We haven't forgotten you. Believe it or not, we are getting very close to having our new kitchen done. The copper sink is set in place, and the countertops were set in place today. So, we are down to some plumbing now and we will be cooking again soon. The farm sink is just absolutely beautiful, and everyone that sees or has seen it just adores it. I have found it is very easy to maintain--just wipe it off with a damp cloth. Our only suggestion is to send appropriate screws along with the base. When we tried to attach the base, the first screw we used was too long and came through the top a little bit. We enjoyed working with you. Clay: I took delivery of the table yesterday and I am very satisfied. However, I am a bit of a nitpicker and would have been happier if the ironsmith would have taken the time to grind down some of the welding bumps at the corners where the bars meet. On another point, I couldn't find the envelope with the 1-1/4" wood screws. No big deal, but can you let me know the size number (I assume they are No. 10 or 8 screws) Another question, is how to clean the surface. There was a layer of residue on the table (black dust). Can I use mild soap and water, followed by a copper polish? I don't want to use any strong cleaner. Overall, it is a beautiful addition to our home and a very stylish piece. Hi Clay, The sink arrived and has been installed as you can see from the photo. We are very, very pleased with the result.......it looks great. Its funny, the two guys I hired to install the sinks commented on initial observation that there was "no way" a custom sink from Mexico was going to fit. I just let things unfold and they were shocked how the undermount replacement fit so perfectly. Anyway, the craftsman did a great job following the dimensions and the corner radius......your recommendation on the antique patina finish was spot on with our granite. Dorian, I absolutely love the table!! It is so beautiful. Bruce looked at Clay's instructions and thought they were for a pedestal table and just proceeded on. No big deal. Apparently it was self evident to him. That's a guy for you. The worst part was trying to get the table level - Bruce is so precise - the 'level' was used every which-a-way and showed pretty exact on all sides when he finished. He does agree though that the table is great.
If you go to sell it as a regular piece (title Marianna - lol!) put a cautionary note in because of the size - here again my own fault - the chairs I ordered are a little wider at the knee than standard size, as are the legs (not sure of the word I'm looking for) arched as opposed to straight legs. In other words, the chairs don't fit under the table all the way for a neat under the table look without crowding. However, testing it at dinner tonight, it was ok and everyone was comfortable. No matter, they still go great with the table. And no matter what the table is fabulous, the color of the iron, the scroll work, and of course, the copper itself, is just gorgeous. Clay, We couldn't believe how well it was packaged. My husband and I were outside with the delivery guy as he took the copper top off the truck and the top fell onto the road - on its edge. We were SO worried that the fall had damaged the top, so we asked the delivery man to wait while we unpackaged it. There was no problem at all! We were quite surprised because it fell pretty forcefully. Dale (my husband) had put the base together earlier in the day - but, he'd tightened the bolts too much so the square iron frame didn't fit correctly. But, he knew what the problem was, loosen the bolts, and everything fell into place. Really, he said that it was quite simple - he just needed a little help turning it over. Be sure to let the folks on Commander's Cover know that they are welcome to come see our table! I'm so glad that we got the 48 inch! Our space could have handled a 54 inch, but since we play cards there every Saturday night, the 48 inch will be much better for us. LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!! Looking forward to the barstools! The table looks great. Milo did have to drill a new hole in the round part that attached to the legs. For some reason, the holes did not line up like their corresponding numbers indicated. I have found it is very easy to maintain--just wipe it off with a damp cloth. Our only suggestion is to send appropriate screws along with the base. When we tried to attach the base, the first screw we used was too long and came through the top a little bit. We enjoyed working with you. Clay: I took delivery of the table yesterday and I am very satisfied. However, I am a bit of a nitpicker and would have been happier if the ironsmith would have taken the time to grind down some of the welding bumps at the corners where the bars meet. On another point, I couldn't find the envelope with the 1-1/4" wood screws. No big deal, but can you let me know the size number (I assume they are No. 10 or 8 screws) Another question, is how to clean the surface. There was a layer of residue on the table (black dust). Can I use mild soap and water, followed by a copper polish? I don't want to use any strong cleaner. Overall, it is a beautiful addition to our home and a very stylish piece. Hi Clay, The sink arrived and has been installed as you can see from the photo. We are very, very pleased with the result.......it looks great. Its funny, the two guys I hired to install the sinks commented on initial observation that there was "no way" a custom sink from Mexico was going to fit. I just let things unfold and they were shocked how the undermount replacement fit so perfectly. Anyway, the craftsman did a great job following the dimensions and the corner radius......your recommendation on the antique patina finish was spot on with our granite. Dorian, I absolutely love the table!! It is so beautiful. Bruce looked at Clay's instructions and thought they were for a pedestal table and just proceeded on. No big deal. Apparently it was self evident to him. That's a guy for you. The worst part was trying to get the table level - Bruce is so precise - the 'level' was used every which-a-way and showed pretty exact on all sides when he finished. He does agree though that the table is great.
If you go to sell it as a regular piece (title Marianna - lol!) put a cautionary note in because of the size - here again my own fault - the chairs I ordered are a little wider at the knee than standard size, as are the legs (not sure of the word I'm looking for) arched as opposed to straight legs. In other words, the chairs don't fit under the table all the way for a neat under the table look without crowding. However, testing it at dinner tonight, it was ok and everyone was comfortable. No matter, they still go great with the table. And no matter what the table is fabulous, the color of the iron, the scroll work, and of course, the copper itself, is just gorgeous. I truly do love it!!! Already dreaming of another piece, perhaps a sofa table, when I hit the lottery. Thank you so much Doran, and thank Clay for me, Order 744.10

Clay, We couldn't believe how well it was packaged. My husband and I were outside with the delivery guy as he took the copper top off the truck and the top fell onto the road - on its edge. We were SO worried that the fall had damaged the top, so we asked the delivery man to wait while we unpackaged it. There was no problem at all! We were quite surprised because it fell pretty forcefully. Dale (my husband) had put the base together earlier in the day - but, he'd tightened the bolts too much so the square iron frame didn't fit correctly. But, he knew what the problem was, loosen the bolts, and everything fell into place. Really, he said that it was quite simple - he just needed a little help turning it over. Be sure to let the folks on Commander's Cover know that they are welcome to come see our table! I'm so glad that we got the 48 inch! Our space could have handled a 54 inch, but since we play cards there every Saturday night, the 48 inch will be much better for us. LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!! Looking forward to the barstools! Our contractor is a very sweet sweet man but is as slow as a herd of turtles. I still have three beautiful copper sinks sitting in my living room. It is unlikely that they will be installed by June.
