Handcrafted Lazy Susans

In the state of Michoacan, Mexico, Maureen and Steve Rosenthal have spent more than 30 years designing a cooperatively owned manufacturing project that began as a government school-workshop. Their focus on utilizing skilled labor and the creativity of a rural populace have brought the MFA-ERONGA brand name recognition in a crowded market-place. The hand painted Lazy Susan has been their most successful product. We present them here.
These polyacrylic lazy susans have been handcrafted by a society of Mexican artisans who are full owners in their cooperative. Every lazy susan requires many hours of sanding, hand painting, and sealing before it is completed. These lazy susans are made of mdf (medium density fiberboard) and hand painted with watercolor paints by artists who are creatively inspired. They are then sanded many times and then sent to have a polyacrylic surface applied. Lastly the gears are attached. Each lazy susan is 16 inches in diameter.
